Don't let its appearance fool you... this native is tougher than it looks!
The Karkalla also known as Noon-Flower is a hardy succulent species that tolerates sandy and loamy soils, drought, and mineral-poor soils. Its toughness makes it an ideal pot plant for a sunny kitchen windowsill. Crisp and fleshy with a slightly salty, mild flavour, the succulent leaves are a tasty vegetable that can be used in salads or pickled for a crunchy texture. Noon also produces a yummy fruit that is edible!
