I recently used the Lemon Myrtle on fish when I was cooking it and it was beautiful. Melbourne Bushfood also sent me another one to try which was great unfortunately I had no idea what it was and how to use it.
I used this to make a trio of native spice in creams. It is also great with fish and chicken
Such a fragrant Australian herb! Beautifully packaged and lovely freshness. I used this in both sweet and savoury dishes and used it as a caffeine free tisane in the evenings. It also makes an awesome iced tea (add some other fruits too - works really well with chopped granny smith apple or pineapple and ice). I put it in cocktails, milkshakes (great with coconut or vanilla), jellied desserts, sprinkled it over coconut sorbet, added it to my pineapple granita and of course in baking (lemon tarts and cake, coconut cake and scones. It is equally good in savoury baking (lemon myrtle and cheese turnovers, in spanakopita, sprinkled over soups just before serving, on pasta, added on the rice in an avocado sushi roll, on my soft tofu salad, in my salad dressing. You can see the list is endless! Don't buy the 20g packet, go straight for 50g.
Absolutely love this extremely versatile seasoning
Needed the lemon myrtle in a rush and they got it to me within the 3 days of it being shipped out, granted i did get the express shipping im still very happy at the quality of it all and the freshness of the taste in the scones we made with it! In the area for a different taste, give ig a whirl with some apricot jam, good stuff.
Wonderful ! Thank you.
