Never judge a book by its cover... or in this case, a native plant by its name!
Pigface is a hardy Australian native ground cover that is drought tolerant and suitable for sandy soils and coastal positions. It prefers a full sun position, is suitable for pots and produces bright pink daisy flowers that cover the bush throughout most of the year with the main blooming occurring in spring and summer.
The leaves can be pickled into a preserve, and the fruit produced in late summer makes for an excellent snack. Its tasty, sweet, and its flavour resembles a salty kiwi with touches of melon!
