💪 Community:

  • Are you Indigenous-owned?

We’re a queer-owned company, and our owner and CEO, Hayden doesn’t identify as Indigenous.

  • Do you have any Indigenous People on your team?

Around 11% of our team identify as First Nations compared to the Victorian average of 2%. It's something important to us, and we engage with Community in Melbourne and hold native food workshops to get local First Nations People engaged with native foods.

  • How do you support Communities?

We engage with lots of different Communities, for example, we source our Jilungin from the Nyul Nyul People of the Dampier Peninsula. On top of paying the prices they set, we contribute a substantial portion of the profits towards infrastructure development to help improve economic opportunities.

  • How do you protect Indigenous Ecological Knowledge?

This is a great question. We're actually engaged with research at the moment in securing native food IPs with Traditional Owners. We believe in keeping the native food industry within Australia and are seeing large plantations of Finger Limes becoming common overseas. To prevent this, we've begun looking into ways to domesticate some species with Traditional Owners within Western law.
